Materials along the walk

FORMA is an architecture & interiors studio working between Beirut and Dubai — private houses shaped by stone, light, and the land they stand on. Est. 2019. Private houses · Interiors · Gardens.

  1. Limestone. Sand-honed, one module throughout. Cool at noon, warm again by dusk.
  2. Lime plaster. Three coats, trowelled damp. The walls don't reflect the light — they hold it.
  3. Travertine. Portal and island, cut from the same honed block. The voids stay unfilled, the way the quarry made them.
  4. Brushed brass. Unlacquered, brushed once. It darkens where hands return.
  5. Teak & linen. Left out in the sea air, and better for it. Weather is the finish.
  6. The grove. The oldest material on site. The house is set between the olives, not instead of them.
